Creating a Company

Buildify walks you through a short, guided setup to create your Company. The setup adapts to where you are — whether you have a clear idea, need help deciding, or already run a business.

Starting the setup​

  1. Open the account menu (your avatar in the top navigation or the sidebar)
  2. Hover the account header to open the account switcher
  3. Click Create a company

While you can be a member of any number of companies, you can only own one at a time. If you already own one, the Create a company option won't appear.

Choose your starting point​

You'll be asked "Where are you in creating your company?" with three paths:

  • I have an idea — Describe your startup idea and Buildify builds a company around it
  • I need help deciding — Tell Buildify about yourself and your interests, and it suggests company ideas for you
  • I already have a company — Share your company's website or details, and Buildify gets started from what you already have

Describe your company​

Depending on the path you chose, you'll answer a short prompt:

  • Have an idea? — "What's your company idea?"
  • Need help deciding? — Tell Buildify about yourself, your hobbies, interests, and industry
  • Have a company? — Enter your company URL or information

Add as much detail as you can — the more context you give, the better the results. When you're ready, submit to let Buildify generate your company.

Review and confirm​

Buildify generates your company details while you watch its progress in the setup chat.

  • If you asked for help deciding, you'll see a set of suggested companies — pick one with Choose, or click More ideas to generate new options.
  • On the Review step, you can edit your company name and description. If you're bringing an existing company, you can also add your Company URL.
  • Click Continue to create your Company.

At any point you can click Start Over to begin again.

What happens next​

Once your Company is created, Buildify automatically:

  • Switches you into your new Company account
  • Sets up a starter set of folders for your work — Data Room - Core Docs, Landing Page, MVP, and Marketing
  • Adds your first tasks to the board and introduces you to the Buildify Agent
  • Kicks off your first deliverables — such as a Mission Statement and Competitive Analysis — automatically

From here, head to your Tasks board to start working with your team and the agent.
