Generating Images
Images projects let you generate AI-created visuals from text prompts. Each image you generate is saved to a gallery inside your project, so you can create, compare, and organize multiple results.
Getting started
- From the dashboard, select Images as your project type
- Optionally choose a category (Product mockup, Illustration, Social media, etc.)
- Describe the image you want in the prompt field
- Click create
Example prompts:
A clean product shot of a white wireless earbud case on a marble surface, soft natural lighting, minimal background
Flat illustration of a person working from a cozy home office, warm colors, friendly and modern style, no text
Isometric icon of a cloud server with lightning bolt, dark blue background, tech aesthetic
Writing effective image prompts
Image generation works best with specific, descriptive prompts. Here are a few things to include:
- Subject — What or who is in the image?
- Style — Photorealistic, illustration, flat design, watercolor, isometric, etc.
- Composition — Close-up, wide shot, overhead view, etc.
- Colors and mood — Warm, cool, dark, minimal, vibrant, etc.
- Background or setting — What's behind or around the subject?
The more detail you provide, the more control you have over the result.
Generating multiple images
You can generate multiple images within the same project. Each generation adds a new image to your project's gallery. This is useful for:
- Exploring different visual directions
- Generating variations of the same concept
- Creating a set of related images (e.g., a series of icons)
Browsing your gallery
All images generated within a project are stored in the project's gallery view. You can:
- Scroll through past generations
- Download individual images
- Use the chat panel to generate new ones
Downloading images
Click any image in your gallery to open it, then use the download button to save it to your device. Images are saved in high resolution suitable for web and print use.
Image category
When creating an Images project, Buildify offers an Image Prompts template that helps you write effective image descriptions. You can use it as a starting point or write your own prompt directly.
Tips
- If a result isn't quite right, describe what's off and ask for a revised version
- Add reference phrases like "in the style of a tech startup website" or "similar to Airbnb's illustration style" to guide the aesthetic
- For logos or text-heavy images, note that AI image generation works best for visuals — precise text rendering may be imperfect
