Connecting GitHub
Buildify can connect your website project to a GitHub repository for two-way sync. Once connected, your project files are stored in GitHub and stay in sync with Buildify as you make changes in either place — so developers on your team can work in their own tools while you continue building in the Buildify chat.
What GitHub integration does
- Stores your project's code in a GitHub repository of your choosing
- Keeps the repository in sync as you make changes in Buildify
- Lets developers pull, edit, and push changes back via standard Git workflows — and those changes are reflected in Buildify
Connecting your GitHub account
- Open your website project
- Click the Project Settings icon (gear) in the workspace toolbar
- Click the GitHub tab in the Project Settings sidebar
- Click Connect to GitHub
- A popup window will open asking you to authorize Buildify to access your GitHub account
- Approve the authorization — you can limit access to specific repositories if preferred
After authorizing, choose the repository to connect this project to. Once connected, your project files are stored in GitHub and sync automatically between Buildify and your repo.
Disconnecting GitHub
To disconnect:
- Open Project Settings → GitHub
- Click the disconnect option in the GitHub tab
Disconnecting removes the connection but does not delete anything from GitHub. Your repository and its contents remain intact.
Working with the repository
Because the GitHub integration is a two-way sync, you can collaborate with developers using normal Git workflows:
- Developers pull the repository and make changes locally
- They push changes back to GitHub
- Their changes show up in your Buildify project
This makes Buildify a good fit when a non-technical founder or designer wants to drive most changes through the AI, while a developer occasionally jumps in to fix something or implement a tricky feature.
