Inviting Teammates

You can invite other people to collaborate on your Buildify projects. Team collaboration is managed at the project folder level — when you invite someone to a project folder, they get access to all projects inside it.

Inviting a team member​

  1. Open the project folder you want to share from the left sidebar
  2. Click the people icon in the top-right of the folder header (it shows the current member count, e.g. "3")
  3. The Team Members modal opens
  4. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite
  5. Select their role from the dropdown (Viewer, Editor, or Admin)
  6. Click Invite

The person will receive an email invitation. If they already have a Buildify account, they can accept immediately. If not, they'll be prompted to create one first.

Team invitations are scoped to a project folder. The invited person will have access to all projects within that folder.

Roles​

Owner​

The creator of the folder. There is one Owner per folder. The Owner has full control, including the ability to delete the folder and change other members' roles.

Admin​

Admins can manage team membership in addition to working with projects. Use this role for trusted collaborators who help run the folder.

Editor​

Editors can:

  • Chat with the AI to generate and modify content
  • View and edit code directly (for Web App projects)
  • Access all project content

Viewer​

Viewers can:

  • View the project and its content
  • See the live preview
  • Cannot make changes or interact with the AI

Assign Viewer access to stakeholders or clients who need to review progress but shouldn't make changes.

Managing team members​

From the Team Members modal you can:

  • See all current members and their roles
  • Change a member's role — Use the role dropdown next to their name
  • Remove a member — Use the role dropdown to remove their access

Credit usage by team members​

When a team member interacts with the AI in your projects, it uses credits from your account (the project folder owner's account).

If you're sharing with a large team or expect heavy usage, keep an eye on your credit balance.

Accepting an invitation​

If someone invites you to their project folder, you can accept in two ways:

  • From the email — Click the link in your invitation email. If you don't have a Buildify account, you'll be prompted to create one.
  • From the dashboard — If you're already signed in when an invite is sent, an acceptance dialog will appear automatically on your dashboard with Join and Decline options.

Once accepted, the shared folder and its projects appear in your sidebar and dashboard.
